Privacy

This site is written by Pavle Davitkovic and operated by PD Codes, which is the data controller for anything described below.
The short version: the only personal data actively collected is the email address you give when subscribing to the newsletter. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no profiling on this site.
What is collected
Your email address, and only if you type it into a newsletter form and confirm the subscription. Nothing else is asked for, and there are no other forms on the site.
Subscription uses double opt-in: after submitting the form you receive a confirmation email, and you are added to the list only once you click the link in it. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
Newsletter delivery (Kit)
The newsletter runs on Kit (formerly ConvertKit). Submitting a form sends your email address to Kit, which stores it and delivers the newsletter. Kit acts as the processor for the subscriber list and applies its own privacy terms and retention.
Kit also records standard delivery information such as whether an email was opened or a link clicked. That behaviour is part of Kit, not something this site adds.
Spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA)
Kit's form script loads Google reCAPTCHA to block automated signups. reCAPTCHA is provided by Google and analyses signals from your browser to score whether a submission looks automated. This runs only on pages that render a newsletter form.
Google’s reCAPTCHA terms are separate from this policy. The links below go to Google, not to this site.
Hosting and server logs
The site is static and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes request data, including IP address, user agent and requested URL, to serve pages and protect against abuse. This site does not add its own server-side logging, and there is no database.
Analytics
None. No analytics or advertising product is loaded on this site. If that ever changes, this page will be updated before it ships.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies of its own. It uses your browser’s local and session storage for a few preferences, which stay on your device and are never sent anywhere:
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
theme | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. |
newsletter-popup-dismissed-at | Timestamp of when you last closed the newsletter dialog, so it stays closed for 30 days. |
newsletter-popup-shown-at | Timestamp of when the newsletter dialog last appeared, so it is not shown again too soon. |
newsletter-popup-session | Keeps the newsletter dialog from reappearing during the current browsing session. |
newsletter-subscriber | Set once you have subscribed, so the newsletter dialog never appears again. |
subscription-confirmed-seen | Ensures the “subscription confirmed” dialog is shown only once. |
You can clear these at any time through your browser settings. Kit and Google may set their own cookies or storage under their domains when their scripts run; those are governed by their policies, linked below.
Unsubscribing
Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link in the footer, which takes effect immediately and needs no explanation. You can also email the address below and I will remove you.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to its processing. Since the only data held is your newsletter subscription, in practice this usually means unsubscribing or asking for removal from the list.
To exercise any of these, email the address below. If you are in the EU or the UK you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Contact
Email [email protected] for anything on this page: data requests, corrections, or removal from the list. Requests are handled by PD Codes as the data controller.
Sponsored content
Articles are written independently. If an article is ever sponsored or contains affiliate links, it carries a visible disclosure at the top and the commercial links are marked as sponsored. Anything without that notice is unpaid.
Who is responsible
The data controller for this site, meaning the entity legally responsible for the personal data described above, is PD Codes.
Third-party policies
The services above run under their own privacy terms:
- Kit (ConvertKit): Newsletter delivery
- Google reCAPTCHA: Spam protection
- Cloudflare: Hosting and network
